Revisions
Like most of the games today, Saturn games received one or more updates to their codes. But due to the media used (CD), it is not so easy to distribute patches and fixes. Programmers must eliminate all the bugs before the game is released, but sometimes they discover some afterwards. To correct them (or to add some extra stuff), they can only make another batch of mastering with the new updated data, and it costs a lot! Hence the tiny amount of revisions that were released for Saturn games.
Revisions of Saturn games are not easy to discover and to track down. There is no way to know which revision of the game you will get by looking at the covers, manual or spine card. There are only 2 methods to identify them (and it is better to use them at the same time), and you need to have the game opened:
Revisions are not linked directly to a new release of the game (with a new serial number like Satakore Edition, Koei Best Collection Edition, etc.). You can have all these cases:
Here is the list of already known games and demos with confirmed revisions. Some revisions remain unconfirmed but there is a chance for them to exist. These unconfirmed revisions are also listed here.
All the games with more than one release have already been checked. So, for example, all the games with a Satakore edition, that are not listed here, do not get a revision.
The details of each revisions are not shown here but directly on each game's page.
Some revisions have not been discovered yet, so feel free to contact us if you can confirm some unconfirmed revisions or if you find some new revisions.

- By looking at the serial number "written" on the inner ring of the CD [aka CD Matrix]
- By looking at the header of the CD on a PC [aka CD Header], by using a program like SRP, and checking the version field.
